I’m back on the TTC bus. 5 ½ weeks after the D&C, I got my period. Not too long, based on what I’ve heard from others. It’s nice to feel like my body figured it out. And without taking too long. I’m definitely crampy and it’s super heavy, but I’m past the miscarriage. We’re doing the miscarriage testing, and I know it will take awhile to get the results back, but we’re still going to try naturally the next couple of months. It hasn’t worked ever before, I don’t know why it would this time, but we may as well try, right? I’m going to break out my thermometer, and start temping tomorrow… And maybe throw an OPK or two in the mix as well. I opened my handy iphone app on Saturday to log in the first day of my period, and it said “101 days since your last period.” So sad…

In other news, guess who sat in the front row at Lady Gaga last night!!! It’s a terrible picture, but here I am – fake eyelashes and horrible wig and all!!! So fun!

  1. Yay for being back in the saddle! It just feels good to be moving forward again... And perhaps you'll be struck by that mythical post-m/c fertility.

Cute outfit-- and awesome house! This homeless girl is jealous!

It is interesting to see photos of my blog friends after I've know you all awhile, as I always have a vague image in my head that is based on nothing. My image of you was outdoorsy-looking, like with a ponytail and natural fiber clothing (maybe because Alex is a unisex name and you have the picture of the dogs...), but obviously this outfit isn't how you normally dress, so-- I am still guessing!

  7. I got mine last week, exactly 28 days after the D&C. It's dragged on and on, though -- I'm surprised there's anything LEFT in there! :-)

I'm doing the same as you. It's ridiculous, I know, as it didn't work for 7 years pre-IVF...but it's been so long since I've temped or kept track of my cycles, that I figure it can't hurt. We're not going to do any treatments, but why not take a "natural" chance?

    Hugs,
    Jo

  9. Well, there's something about not really trying that may help take the pressure off. At the very least, you will have low expectations! I am actually a little worried about trying amid all of my miscarriage testing, just my luck, i would get pregnant before we had it all sorted out and miscarry AGAIN! So I'm not trying, but we're obviously not preventing. Hubs and I have joked that we will never use conception again! (and worse case scenario end up with TWO kids!)

    LOVE the picture! How fun!

  15. So cool that you dressed up for it! I think dressing up makes things a lot more fun (though I rarely get to go to things I could dress up for). Great pic! Now I have a face to put with the name ;)

I was so sad too when I read that line about the Iphone app. Stupid insensitive technology. But just hang on in there girl!! Your body is doing the right stuff which is a good thing :)

  20. Glad things are back on *schedule*

So jealous about Lad Gaga! First row?! Lucky duck. We're going to see her in a few weeks, but it's open seating and the chances of me fighting my way to the front are slim to none! Love the wig :)
