Monitoring Update

It’s CD9, and I have a whole lot of follies growing. I’m hoping that 1-3 take over, and some of them fall behind… On my left ovary, I have two follies at 12mm, one at 10mm, and lots under 10mm. On my right ovary, I have two follies at 10mm, one at 9 mm, and lots under 10mm that she didn’t count. My estradiol level is 243, which she said was good, but seems a little low based on my non-scientific research. I’m supposed to stay at 75 each night for the gonal-f, and then start the ganirelix shots tomorrow night. Then I go back in on Monday morning. I’m trying to stay positive, but the number of follies concern me a bit. They decreased my levels of gonal-f because last time I responded almost too fast, and that’s also why I’m adding ganirelix. I know they know what they’re doing, but it’s so hard to just trust them and put everything in their hands, you know?

  1. Sounds like everything is going great! When I triggered I had 8 follies and a bunch of smaller ones (only 4 were considered "mature" at 16-19mm). I did the Ganirelix for 5 days before trigger. My E2 went from 53 at baseline to 350 to 600 to 1400! Sounds like you need a couple more days and you'll get there!

  2. Right now I WANT to put this in someone else's hands. But I imagine that the relief only lasts momentarily, then it's back to anxiety and questioning...

I am super hopeful for you!!! Not that I know what ANY of these numbers mean, but if the dr. says 'good', well.... :)

  3. I'm excited that you are on your way. It's hard when doctor Internet isn't in agreement with actual doctor. All that dominant growth during this stage is baffling to me, but I'm sure you will get some winners pulling ahead.

  4. I've done gonal-f with ganirelix. It was a good combo.

  5. Stay positive girly, I know its hard to put SO MUCH in someones else's hands but at some point we have to just Let GO and trust that things will work out. Its hard though, nothing makes you loose trust in everything like infertility, but sometimes when medical intervention is needed, we need to let go. Of course, always ask lots of questions too!!!

  6. I think that is one of the WORST parts of infertility...all the worry and fretting about what if. Hope this cycle is a raging success for you.

  8. All you can do is trust the medical professionals. Remember that us in TTC land makes us superheroes because we have to have strength and a ton of patience to endure this month after month. Your day will come and I am thinking positive thoughts for you...I predict you will have 2 awesome follies!
